Room Attendant is responsible for the cleanliness of guest rooms, hallways, and public areas in the hotel. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: servicing guest rooms daily in accordance with hotel processes and procedures, stocking cart with room supplies, and replacing bed linens and replenishing guest room supplies based on specific time restraints. This position requires strong attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form, and the ability to bend, lift, and be standing or walking all day.


 Strip and make beds. Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors. Dust and polish furniture. Clean rugs, vacuum carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies. May sort, count, fold, mark, or carry linens.

 Wash windows, door panels, and sills. Empty wastebaskets and empty and clean ashtrays and transport trash and waste to designated disposal area. Clean bathroom and replenish supplies. May spot clean and/or deep clean walls, ceiling, fixtures and woodwork.

 Check TV and radio for proper functioning. Clean telephone ear and mouthpieces. Check and clean all dresser, desk and nightstand drawers. Check all room paper work and replenish as needed. Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies. May replace light bulbs in lamps or bathroom fixtures.

 Assist guests with all needs and report to supervisors any guest concerns, problems, or additional needs.

 Cooperate with other departments as needed to ensure coordination of activities.

 Maintain the desired levels of quality assurance ratings and inspection scores, including guest comment cards.

 Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc. Store Room Attendant carts at the end of each day

 A professional appearance required. A uniform and nametag are required at all times.

 Perform additional duties as assigned.


Previous experience preferred. Must be able to measure chemicals into spray bottles and buckets and be able to anticipate equipment/supply need and evaluate thoroughness of cleaning done. Ability to clean a room under twenty five (25) minutes while meeting quality and efficiency standards for the hotel. Excellent customer service skills. Pleasant and helpful personality. Maintains professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Must speak fluent English. Depending on business demands this individual may be asked to work additional hours, flexible schedule, and/or perform additional job responsibilities. Will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, and pull throughout the shift.
